NCAA Information to Consider

Kali Prime wants to provide information that will help coaches, parents, and players to make informative decisions. We strive to provide a service that is unique in many ways. Players must make the right decisions for themselves for the best opportunity for their basketball career goals.

We aim to help high school basketball players fulfill their college goals and extend their basketball careers. High school coaches, players, and parents must be knowledgeable, and most of all, it's imperative to do their research. Here's some information that each player should consider when deciding on the best path for their recruitment in the Spring & Summer of 2025:

In 2025, there will also be some new rules that will impact high school players' recruitment. Here are some of the rules that the NCAA has adopted:

Transfer Portal: Student-athletes who transfer will be guaranteed their financial aid at their next school through graduation.

Transfer Portal: Exceptions to the new windows for student-athletes who experience head coach changes or have athletics aid reduced, canceled, or not renewed.

Transfer Portal: Immediate eligibility waivers for student-athletes who do not otherwise meet the one-time transfer exception, focusing on student-athlete well-being or circumstances outside the student-athlete's control.

In 2015, the NCAA Division I "Power 5" Schools implemented a rule that "protects" Division I student-athletes from having their athletic scholarship canceled or not renewed for any athletics reason. A coach cannot take away a scholarship for poor athletic performance.

There's a new rule up for a vote to guarantee scholarships.

These new rules help athletes; however, it is much more challenging for high school players to receive a scholarship offer.

There's another factor to consider for the Spring & Summer of 2025. In our professional opinion, the NCAA has emphasized the importance of recruiting high school basketball players as heavily weighed upon "Live Periods" for both Scholastic & AAU. There are other factors to consider for the Spring & Summer of 2025. In our professional opinion, the NCAA has emphasized the importance of recruiting high school basketball players as heavily weighed upon "Live Periods" for both Scholastic & AAU. Over the years, the NCAA has made incremental changes to the basketball recruiting calendar; here are the recruiting periods:

2025 NCAA Live Periods:
May 16-18 (AAU)
June 20-22 (High School / Scholastic)
June 27-29 (High School / Scholastic)
July 10-13 (AAU)
July 17-20 (AAU)

As you can see, recruiting periods have drastically changed from a few years ago, when AAU was the best way to be seen by college coaches during NCAA Live Periods.
